10 THINGS TO DO IN CAPE TOWN THIS SUMMER ON A BUDGET

Summer has finally arrived and we have the top tips on how to enjoy it while not breaking the bank. From the outdoors & exercising to socialising & restaurant specials. 

We know living in Cape Town on a student budget can be expensive and these are our feels exactly all through the summer holiday...

So to help you out here are some budget friendly activities that won't break the bank:

 

 

1 - FREE SUNSET YOGA

Join Yogalife & Café Caprice for Free Wednesday Sunset Yoga on Camps Bay Beach. Enjoy your yoga class and walk across the street to Café Caprice after for a complimentary Savanna 

 

2 - 2 FOR 1 PIZZA

The following Wednesday switch things up from yoga to 2 for 1 pizza specials at Hail Pizza from 18.00 - 19.00 

 

3 - BREAKFAST SPECIAL

Are you a morning person? If so, we know the perfect special to start your day off right. Head to Clarkes for their eggs breakfast special along with a coffee or glass of OJ for only R 35 between 8.00 - 9.00 am

 

4 - SUNDOWNERS WITH A VIEW

For a change of scenery drive right to the end of ocean view drive and enjoy sundowners on the rock with a view with your closest friends

 

5 - PROMENADE WALK & COFFEE

Feel like getting active? Take a morning walk or run along the Sea Point promenade. Stop and do a workout at the outdoor gym. Alternatively, you can grab a coffee from Vida Café in the garage (Moullie Point side) or walk to the end of the promenade and grab a coffee or ice cream from the stalls by the pool (Sea Point side). 

 

6 - CLIFTON BEACH DAY

If it is the beach you desire, pack a picnic lunch and head to Clifton. We suggest fresh fruit, cheese & crackers and maybe even some chips & dip as a delicious lunching snack. 

 

7 - KIRSTENBOSCH GARDENS PICNIC

Not a beach goer? Drive out to the Kirstenbosch Gardens instead and enjoy your picnic there in nature. 

 

8 - SUSHI SPECIALS

And what would a summer in Cape Town be without sushi? Here we have a few specials for you, if you want to be close to the sea side head to Manga for 2 for 1 sushi on Tuesdays. If you are really hungry Active Sushi is the place for you with an all you can eat special for R199. And if you feel like a cocktail with your sushi you should head to Beluga for half price sushi and cocktails from lunch until 7pm from Mondays to Saturdays

 

9 - WINE TASTING IN STELLENBOSCH

Up for a drive? Take a trip to the Stellenbosch Winelands for a day of relaxing and wine tasting with friends. Taste a selection of 5 wines at Kleine Zalze golf estate for just R 25 or just up the road buy a bottle of wine to enjoy it relaxing on the rolling grass at Peter Falke

 

10 - HOP-ON-HOP-OFF BUS TOUR

Don’t have a ride? How about being a tourist in your own city and buy a ticket for the hop-on-hop-off bus tour. For R220 for a day you can ride around from the V&A & Aquarium to Camps Bay to Constantia Nek to the District 6 Museum
